The most famous and widely played variant of the game is “marbles on a circuit.” Before playing, create a track by drawing it in the sand or on another surface. You can add curves, climbs, and descents to make it more challenging, or keep it simple. The first player starts by shooting their marble along the course. Each subsequent player takes their turn, trying to catch up with the marble ahead in a chase-style race. The winner is the first player to reach the finish line.

Another way to play with marbles is to draw a circle in the sand or on the rocks, about 1 to 3 meters in diameter. Prepare the marbles. You can arrange them however you like. Use at least 13 marbles (an odd number ensures there will be a winner). The first player shoots from outside the circle, aiming to knock one of the other marbles out without their own marble leaving the circle. If the player successfully knocks a marble out, they keep it, earn a point, and take another turn, shooting from where their shooter marble landed. If they fail to knock any marble out, play passes to the next player. The game ends when all the marbles have been knocked out of the circle. The player who has collected the most marbles is the winner.
